Finally NDP is over.. seen it 6 times over.. and saw how things progress and improves on..

ND was always a little something more than just a public holiday. Was a little more than something more in 2002 cuz i get to go watch it LIVE.. i've been watching NDP for God knows how long and i often "switched off" after the parade march past.. i like the pre-parade show.. the parade march-in itself and then the march-pass.. and no.. i never really enjoyed or understood the show part... but this year was different.. very different.. This year's show connected to me in an emotional way..

it's a ten chapter story of Singapore. I loved the snippet of speeches by MM, PM & SM (father, the son.. & the holy Goh) MM's snippet was in black & white somemore! of how he envision that in ten years.. where we, largely village and kampong, will turn into a metropolitan and he implore the people to "never fear"...

SM's snippet talking about how we handle crisis.. how it was important to keep our morale up and PM's snippet about 1968's parade that when it was formed up.. it started to rain.. "We looked around to see if anyone ran for cover... and no one did.. We stood there and we shiver under that heavy downpour but we stood there.. This is the people determined to be a success.." and it actually rained heavily on of the NE show right at the moment when we were singing our national anthem..



Our independence definitely wasn't fought for.. it was thrusted onto us.. but Our forefathers was more than successful in building this nation.. it was a job suddenly entrusted to them.. and they were more than successful.


Thank God that HE's hand is definitely on our nation.. Thank God for the leaders HE position for our country. And i believe.. i really believe... MM's vision was given by GOD..
