Do u feel sad when things don't turn out the way u want?
Do u feel disappointed when things gets out of your control?
I supposed we feel both sad and disappointed, and sometimes angry, when the things we trusted God for just simply don't come...
There was this man of God who once told me...
"When you give advice someone, the person did not take heed and fall. How do u feel?"
"Sad? Angry? Are you sad because the person didnt take YOUR advice or THE advice?"
How true... many times we are sad and disappointed because we felt that we were not important and our words don't hold weight in that person we love.
"they belong to God, not you" this was the words that reminds me constantly that as much as i want to help and make a difference in people's lives.. As much as i love them, i have to trust that GOd will take care of them and not my 2 cents worth of advice...
As much as i can preached the bible and give long talks, it will amount to nothing unless my trust is in God to move in that person... i'm sure alot of you have heard this "With God, all things are possible".. If u read carefully into it, it's as good as saying, "without God, nothing is possible"...
If advices and nagging can change a person. If punishment and discipline can help change someone mind.. The world would have been a better place thousands years ago.. Christ would not need to die... Discipline is good and advices are needful but without Christ, all this are dead work...
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens (empowers, enables) me."
This applies not only to interpersonal relationship but also everything that we claimed that we trusted God for.. results for students, great career for those working, wonderful partner for those who are single and many many things more..
What is disappointment? Why are there disappointment? strictly speaking, disappointment is an expression not an emotion.. The existence of disappointment is due to un-met expectations. To prevent disappointment, do not put your trust on anything or anyone because all these are limited!! Put your trust in Christ.. for HE is limitless and HE loves you beyond anyone's comprehension...
Without Christ.. we can do nothing.. When your trust is fully upon Jesus... trust me... when things don't turn out the way you want... (yes, you will still feel sad and even disappointed because we are still in this flesh..") there will be such an un-explained peace within you that says, "All things work together for good to those who knows God loves them."
You will look at failure and disappointment with unveiled eyes...
All of a sudden.. You just know that in the midst of roaring tides and howling winds.. HE is there with you.. Faith dares to fail..
