Many times we ask ourselves, “What are we gifted in?” “Is this my calling?”
Many times we let go of one to take hold of another.
And more often then other, we asked ourselves, “I’m tired of this… Is this really what I want to do?”
All these questions are definitely legitimate to ask in our walk with Jesus but the problem with almost everyone of us is, who are we directing these questions to? To ourselves? Or Jesus? How long do we take to realize that we do not have answers to every question in our life but only God does…
Ecclesiastes 3:11 (New American Standard Bible)
11He has made everything [a]appropriate in its time He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 Lit beautiful
We do not know how or when the miracle started. We will not know when or where it will cease for another to begin for “man will not find out the work which God has done from beginning even to the end.” But one thing we know, God is faithful and He cannot lie. Many times in the bible, it talks about how man were amazed and woah by God’s mighty hand at work…
Let’s not try to figure if what we are doing is really what we want to do… For everything we do, DO NOT do it for God… but Do it for the GLORY of God… As what our Lord says, “Do it so your Father in Heaven may be glorified.” Be faithful with what’s in your hand and let God walk (not just guide) you through this life on earth…
Colossians 3:22-24 (New King James Version)
22 Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eye service, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.
23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,
24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
If you see that there are many things that you want to do for God, seek and ask him to prosper your inner man… that you may be able to take on what’s on the outside..
1 Timothy 1:12 (New King James Version) 12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry…
Why did God enable you? Because He counted you faithful… and HE puts you into service for His Ministry…
Do not ever think that gifting and calling of God will be lost if you neglect it.
Romans 11:29
29for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
In some other translations, it says that the gifting and calling of God are without repentance… which means God don’t change His mind about it..
Yes, it may lie domain when you don’t use it but it will still be there, definitely there…
Darlene Zschech said this, “Do not put your trust in your gifting but in the ONE who gave it to you.” Just as rain falls because gravity pulls.. (rain don’t just fall, fall…) your faithfullness pulls down more of God’s anointing and enabling… for God has bless you with all blessings in the heavenly places in Christ.. waiting to be manifested into the physical realm..
Jeremiah 33:3 (New American Standard Bible)
3Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.'
Psalm 119:89 (New American Standard Bible)
89Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.
Shalom Shalom,
Steve
"What is it that's unique in our calling and giftings? I can do this, so can he!" I was asked this question a couple of days ago...
So often we look into our hands thinking about what we can do and what we are able to do... and suddenly remembered that the guy across the room seem to be able to do the same thing better.
Many times, after sharing a good revelation, we heard another shared... somewhat, a better revelation than ours..
When we look at our hands, we are unable to look beyond our natural abilities, sometimes even God's gifting, to the One who created and enable these hands... I was told, in a letter of encouragement, that i'm unique to God. Just like the fingerprints He gave us. I was like... eh.. ok.. hmmm...
I understood my science enough to know that no two humans has the same fingerprints... but.. i just felt there's more to it..
Just when the question was posted to me... "unique" was the word that kept jumping out at me.. The two just linked up... The uniqueness of our giftings and calling are not in the vocation nor skills and abilities but the uniqueness is in the impact we leave behind. Just as how we leave our fingerprints behind when we touched something, we leave behind a "print" each time we exercise our giftings...
Two person may do the same thing but each leaves behind a different and unique impact. One may carry the presenc of God's love and another may carry the a strong presence of joy. One may speak a word of exhortation and leave behind a sense of God's love. Another may use the same word of exhortation yet leave behind a reminder of God's faithfulness...
That's the uniqueness of our giftings and calling... When we realise that, we will not only stop looking at the guy next to us doing the same thing, and also stop looking at ourselves.
This would very much solve the issue of competition between one another when we realise in whatever we do, we do it unto the Lord and for His glory, and that what we are doing is unique from another despite the look of it is the same. We always wanted to do what others is doing to prove that we are better, and we wonder why we can't seem to make a difference in other people's lives. Do your part and share in faith and with faith and let others do his and all will be effective in what we do...
Do not put your trust in your giftings.. but the One who give it to you.. and the mark you left behind... will be one that make a difference...
